Monarda (Monarda didyma)

Monarda also known as Bee Balm, Bergamot, or Oswego Tea is a good choice for a perennial bed, borders or for a cutting bed.  It's fragrant leaves are sometimes dried to make potpourri and is a favorite of hummingbirds and butterflies.  Monarda tends to spread from the roots and can be invasive.

Blooms: Summer

Height: 2' - 4'

Space: 6" - 1'

Soil: Neutral, Moist

Care: Divide clumps every 2-3 years in spring or fall and cut plant to ground level in fall.  Deadheading will prolong flowering.
