The Black-chinned Hummingbird (Archilochus alexandri) is probably the second most common winter hummingbird in Georgia next to the Rufous.

Description: Average Weight: Male 3.09g, Female 3.42g. Male: Metallic green back and crown, flanks dusky green with whitish underparts, gorget is black with a purple band across the bottom of the gorget. Female: Green back and crown, white breast, white throat that may have some small dusky spots, white tips on outer tail feathers. Distribution: Observed in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan.
